In and around Dursley
The Hollies is a care home offering retirement apartments located on an elevated position overlooking the picturesque market town of Dursley, with breathtaking vies of the surrounding Gloucestershire countryside.
Dursley is a quaint Gloucestershire market town, nestled comfortably on the south-west edge of an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A thriving Cotswold town, Dursley brings together traditional architecture and charm with all the modern facilities you could need. Less than 25 miles from Bristol and 16 from Gloucester, access to surrounding areas is easy. Stroud too is less than 10 miles away.
Dursley offers a wide range of local and independent shops as well as services you may require such as banks, doctors, dentists and solicitors offices. There is a local post office, and leisure facilities include a bowling green, an award-winning library and the local swimming pool, which offers sessions specifically for the over-55s. The Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club is also easy to reach and was described by renowned British golf commentator, Henry Longhurst, as one of the most scenic courses to be enjoyed in Europe. Farmers Markets are held in the Market Place in Dursley which is also home to The Old Spot, a pub which has won countless regional awards and the CAMRA National Pub of the Year in 2007.
The surrounding areas are picturesque and ideal for relaxing in your retirement, with scores of country pubs, footpaths and bridleways ideal for a country walk. Local places of interest include Westonbirt Arboretum, Slimbridge Wildlife and Wetlands Trust and the Beaufort Polo Ground. These are all within a five mile radius of Littlecombe Park and you can also enjoy other Gloucestershire market towns such as Tetbury and Cirencester.
