We are delighted to share our 2017 CQC inspection results with you as we maintained our “GOOD” status.
The Hollies were found to offer safe service with sufficient staffing levels to ensure safe care and treatment to support people. Our staff were also considered to be well skilled and created an adaptable environment in order to meet the needs of our residents. The Hollies offer many services, such as respite care, dementia care, residential care and nursing care.
Staff were described as being positive about the people they supported. A number of staff described the people living at the home as ‘their family’ and said that they “really like coming to work. The people living here are wonderful. They are like family.”
The CQC Inspector commented that there was a genuine sense of fondness and respect between Staff and Residents. ‘It was clear there was a strong value base around providing Resident-centered care to Residents using the service. Throughout this inspection it was evident that Residents were cared for with compassion and kindness.”
We received wonderful comments from family-members and residents too, “A big thank you to everyone at The Hollies who helped look after our mum. You all did a wonderful job.” One person who had stayed with us for a short respite had written, “To all at The Hollies who have made my stay more enjoyable. A massive thank you”
We are also proud to have been acknowledged for the positive awareness that we have raised in our community around dementia. We are proud to look after residents from the local area as well as Bristol, Swindon, Cheltenham and Stroud.
This inspection took place in July and our thanks go to all of you who shared your views on The Hollies with the inspectors.
