Activities

As part of a healthy lifestyle we are committed to providing a person centred approach to care and that includes activities. We ensures that each resident’s physical and mental well-being is cared for by pursuing their interests and hobbies that they have enjoyed in the past, or new interests that they wish to pursue in the future. There’s always fun and friendship to be had with the many varied monthly activities included in our social calendar.

A range of events & activities…

Our team organises a wide range of social events and activities for your loved one to get involved. Events occur every day, including for example –  crafts, card and board games, bingo, guest speakers, magic shows, quizzes, creative writing, art therapy, travelling zoo, musical entertainment, cheese and wine evenings, parties and outings to local places of interest.

Holistic activities…

A holistic activities programme is available to all of our residents, tailored specifically to the tastes of those living with us by our activities team. The Hollies has twice been a runner up in the National Care Awards and our outings and entertainment are often cited as one of our residents’ favourite aspects of their time living with us.

Monthly programme…

A monthly activities programme is displayed in our reception area for residents and their guests to see, whilst a daily programme is delivered to each of our residents’ doors weekly allowing them to enjoy a busy social calendar if they choose. We also have a minibus for outings and pub lunches that our residents greatly enjoy. Our outings include Weston Super Mare, Westonbirt Arboretum, Bath, the seaside, boating with the Willow Trust and regular trips to the garden centre and local library.

Friends & family welcome…

We welcome friends and families of our residents to participate in our planned activities where possible. The Hollies isn’t only about participating in scheduled events; rather, we encourage our residents to build a life here.

Our garden pathways, water wheel, orchard, herb garden and summer house are just some of the highlights within the park enjoyed by residents and guests alike.

In mum’s time at the Hollies, she has gone from strength to strength. Her walking and mobility have hugely improved. She now has a sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face. She enjoys all of the activities and now has a whirlwind of social activities that she could not have imagined having this time last year. All of this, combined with the huge level of care and the fantastic room complete with an en-suite and patio doors looking out onto a grassy, tree-filled bank with a waterfall complimenting the relaxed but professional attitude at the Hollies has resulted in an improvement that I could not have imagined, let alone expected.
