We are thrilled to announce that Becky has successfully completed her master’s in science with a specialisation in Dementia Studies (MSc). This rigorous three-year postgraduate course has equipped her with invaluable insights into various aspects of dementia research and care. Holly Oak Care Centre sponsored and supported Becky with her postgraduate course.
Throughout her studies, Becky placed a strong emphasis on the importance of integrating individuals living with dementia into research, understanding how this integration significantly impacts the progression of dementia care. She explored the relevance of multidisciplinary and dynamic care across different geographical contexts, highlighting the necessity of collaboration in addressing the complexities of dementia.
One of Becky’s particular interests was the comparison between biomedical approaches and holistic therapies, and how these differing paradigms affect cognitive behaviour. Her passion for this subject shines through in her work, and she has gained a wealth of knowledge that she is eager to share with our team.
Her degree has instilled in her a newfound confidence and she is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and is actively exploring additional areas of learning that can benefit our residents at Holly Oak, as well as enhance the knowledge and skills of our team.
Congratulations, Becky! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to the positive impact you will continue to make in our care homes and community.
