Providing the very best for our elderly in Gloucestershire
The Hollies new Holly Oak Dementia Care Home opened its doors on 11 January and, by all accounts, it seems it will exceed the expectations of the most discerning families, residents and health practitioners.
Holly Oak offers state-of-the-art care in a tastefully designed home set in the most idyllic leafy surroundings. The first residents are now enjoying this beautiful new home in all its luxury. Rooms are classy and to a high specification, ready for personal effects and individualisation – in fact, more than 50% of rooms are already reserved.
The home couldn’t be opening at a better time following the Christmas break when typically families reassess the needs of their loved ones. This time of year is the busiest for admissions.
Holly Oak has been impeccably designed with attention to every detail. There are many different social areas including an orangery, small lounges and outdoor terraces. Throughout, the furnishings are elegant with rich accents and all spaces benefit from plenty of natural light. This is a real community coming with Bessy’s Tea Room, a private bar, hair salon and mini-store.
“We are absolutely delighted with our beautiful new home” says Kaye Hawkins, Commercial Director. “It has been a project from the heart. We spent time researching the very best facilities in the market and worked with architects and designers to develop an environment that will really enable our residents to enjoy every aspect of their day.” The care provided at Holly Oak is based on the internationally recognised ‘Household Model of Care’ which fully embraces a person-centred approach. Duncan Pyne, Registered Manager has spent more than 20 years practising in care for those living with dementia. “It is wonderful to be able to embrace a level of care with the right understanding, personalisation and environment that enables us to affect our residents’ daily lives in a positive way. Additionally, we are providing a great place of work that offers extensive training for our growing care team.”
The Holly Oak, like its sister, the Hollies, has comprehensive hygiene standards and controls in place to maintain the health and safety of residents, staff and families. Most staff and residents have now had the COVID-19 vaccination. There is even a newly built summer house enabling families to meet in the most comfortable and safe conditions.
New resident admissions are being taken. There are showrooms for viewing and virtual tour options. For enquiries, please contact Duncan Pyne, Registered Manager, or Chloe Ebbs, Admissions Coordinator, on 01453541400 or email info@thehollies.co.uk
